Introduction
You may have thought
you only purchased a cookbook, a guide in using the nutritionally
and energetically special hemp seed. If recipes are all you want
then turn immediately to Section Two for some mouth-watering dishes
from around the world. If you want to know more about why we want
and need to use certain ingredients, and for the basics on a number
of key nutritional theories then Section One is where you should
begin. And if the idea of hemp as a lifestyle interests you, then
you will find the basis to the information I have researched from
around the world for you to peruse.
As for myself, I am
not a vegetarian, a vegan, a health freak, or even a raw or living
foodist. What I have chosen, is to become aware of the effects
processed foods have on my mind, body and spirit. I have chosen to
let go of any habits, attachment or drugs that affect the truth that
exists within us all, as it exists within everything. To become one
with existence is to become one with nothing; 'nirvana'.
Diametrically opposed to being 'spaced out', it is to become fully
aware of every moment, grounded and centred. It is the ultimate
truth, the reason for existence, where there is ironically no
reason, no right, no wrong, no good and no bad.
Food and food
Despite the fact
that this book concerns food and its effects on us, I truly believe
that food, per se, is not an issue. As long as you are aware of the
facts herewith enclosed, you will naturally move towards a diet
filled with more pure and living foods. With the aid of a diet
consisting of living foods and fasting, your body will naturally
heal and clean itself from years of toxicity, giving you the space
to reach goals hitherto unknown. You will become more efficient,
need less sleep and worry less about what you are eating and how it
may affect you. The aim is to drop the need to 'know'. Ironically to
reach this stage we must undertake a process that involves becoming
aware of some basic truths. Not slightly twisted truths ruled by an
economic gain, but truths that help us to become more in harmony
with nature.
'Good, bad, right,
wrong are all judgements of what is done. If we consider how it is
done, without our ego, with awareness, without the I then we may
come to understand whether we are using our actions to protect
ourselves or to set ourselves free.'
The new millennium
is a time for change on this planet, not just in the way we live
physically, but for change on a spiritual level. No-one can escape
this. The movement to natural, living foods is part of this change
and can be understood more by action than by words: let us begin at
the end, with balance.
