I think you are doing a great service.
>Jace, please let us know if there are any new developments. We are non-profit and we are trying to collect all the material useful for hemp farmers and agronomists alike since 1995.
I just put up a web page for 'finola oil'. you will see that it is only info, because I really don't have enough oil to export at this time. we had a miserable year up here with one of the coldest and wettest summers in recorded history. the summer before was one of the hottest and driest. we got up to 2 MT/Ha in some plots in '97, but hardly got more than 0.5 MT/HA on the few plots that we managed to harvest this year. the season in '98 in Finland went from cold and wet to freezing and snowy without a significant harvest window.
>Unfortunately very few people take the time or effort to share information. Hence, everybody is re-inventing the wheel for themselves. We find this rather cumbersome and inefficient.
It really is. I keep publishing our results in the JIHA, telling as much as I can and there was an update in the last issue (maybe you saw this?).
There is little seed available, and FIN-314 in north America is now administered by Gen-X: sasha przytyk genx@net1fx.com he will be able to give you all the details. keep in mind, we are only interested in growing with organic techniques, others need not apply. also, i suspect this will be grown by gen-x members in 1999, but (if all goes well) we should have lots of seed for the masses beyond that time.

Matthew,
I came across this on the net, it speaks for itself.
John Olsen
Chief Seattle, Chief of the Suquamish Indians wrote to the American Government in the 1800's
In his letter he gave the most profound understanding of God in all Things. Here is his letter, which should be instilled in the hearts and minds of every parent and child in all the Nations of the World:
CHIEF SEATTLE'S LETTER FROM 1854!
"The President in Washington sends word that he wishes to buy our land. But how can you buy or sell the sky? the land? The idea is strange to us. If we do not own the freshness of the air and the sparkle of the water, how can you buy them?
Every part of the earth is sacred to my people. Every shining pine needle, every sandy shore, every mist in the dark woods, every meadow, every humming insect.
All are holy in the memory and experience of my people.
We know the sap which courses through the trees as we know the blood that courses through our veins. We are part of the earth and it is part of us. The perfumed flowers are our sisters. The bear, the deer, the great eagle, these are our brothers.
The rocky crests, the dew in the meadow, the body heat of the pony, and man all belong to the same family.
The shining water that moves in the streams and rivers is not just water, but the blood of our ancestors. If we sell you our land, you must remember that it is sacred.
Each glossy reflection in the clear waters of the lakes tells of events and memories in the life of my people. The water's murmur is the voice of my father's father.
The rivers are our brothers. They quench our thirst. They carry our canoes and feed
our children. So you must give the rivers the kindness that you would give any brother.
If we sell you our land, remember that the air is precious to us, that the air shares its spirit with all the life that it supports. The wind that gave our grandfather his first breath also received his last sigh. The wind also gives our children the spirit of life.
So if we sell our land, you must keep it apart and sacred, as a place where man can go to taste the wind that is sweetened by the meadow flowers.
Will you teach your children what we have taught our children? That the earth is our mother? What befalls the earth befalls all the sons of the earth.
This we know: the earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the earth.
All things are connected like the blood that unites us all. Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.
One thing we know: our God is also your God. The earth is precious to him and to
harm the earth is to heap contempt on its creator.
Your destiny is a mystery to us. What will happen when the buffalo are all slaughtered? The wild horses tamed? What will happen when the secret corners of the forest are heavy with the scent of many men and the view of the ripe hills is blotted with talking wires? Where will the thicket be? Gone! Where will the eagle be? Gone! And what is to say goodbye to the swift pony and then hunt? The end of living and the beginning of survival.
When the last red man has vanished with this wilderness, and his memory is only the shadow of a cloud moving across the prairie, will these shores and forests still be here? Will there be any of the spirit of my people left? We love this earth as a newborn loves its mother's heartbeat. So, if we sell
you our land, love it as we have loved it. Care for it, as we have cared for it.
Hold in your mind the memory of the land as it is when you receive it. Preserve the land for all
children, and love it, as God loves us.
As we are part of the land, you too are part of the land. This earth is precious to us.
It is also precious to you.
One thing we know - there is only one God. No man, be he Red man or White man, can be apart. We ARE all brothers after all."

To: Matthew@HempWorld.com
Dear Matthew,
Very good work on hemp, I hope you continue.
My little help to your effort is also an opportunity to contact other people interested on hemp and in particular on immunoassay for THC evaluation in hemp.
At our Institute we have obtained a monoclonal antibody against delta-9-THC and we are using competitive ELISA to select hemp plants with low THC content.
I should be interested to know if there are people or companies interested in simple and fast immunoassay to use in field. I should be glad to receive suggestion and advice for practical application of Mab anti-THC.
Thank you for this help

I just accessed this website today, and we are interested in entering the wholesale side of the hemp market, whereas we would sell hemp products. Do you know of any wholesalers who would like to do business?
I am also interested in buying shares of your business.Do you have access to a business that sells hemp fabric at wholesale prices?
I am a Christian and I believe that industrialized hemping should be legal, so as you can guess, my sources are limited thus far. We want to purchase hemp products wholesale for retail consumers. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated :-)

Subject: Bulk hemp seed sales
To: Matthew@HempWorld.com
Hello there;
I'm getting a little frustrated in my search for bulk, roasted hemp seeds and hope you can point me in the right direction. I'm with Bowen Island Brewery here in Vancouver, Canada and would idealy like to find a reliable, Canadian supplier of hemp seeds. Pre-roasted would be best but i'm sure we could find someone local to take care of the roasting process if need be.
I've already spent considerable time on this quest and would appreciate any leads you could forward to me.
Thanks in advance for you valuable time and help!

Subject: Seed treatments on hemp
To: Matthew@HempWorld.com
I'm hoping you may be able to help with some information on hemp seed.
The survey group at the Ministry of Agriculture in the UK has just completed a survey of pesticide usage on arable crops. One of the novel crops we've come across in the 1996 survey was hemp, being grown on contract on a trial basis. The seed has been imported from France and treated with a mixture of anthraquinone and captan, but we have been unable to find out the relative proportions of the two active ingredients or the seed rate.
Any ideas?! Any information would be much appreciated!
Regards.

Thanks for your inquiry to Hemp Cyberfarm about hemp seed oil for making soap.
Your letter was forwarded to us since we are the manufacturer of hemp oil. We offer our fresh hemp seed oil for $90 per gallon in one gallon quantities. Bulk orders of five gallons or more are $80 per gallon. In quantities of more than 55 gallons, we quote $70 per gallon. These prices are approximately half of what they were two years ago due to the volume we are now able to produce.
We press oil on a weekly basis, pretty much to order to assure our customers that our oil is fresh.
Please write or call if you have any questions.

Subject: does THC level affect quality of hemp products?
Hi there I am down in South Africa, starting to become aware of hemp issues and slowly starting to think towards getting involved in A)getting hemp cultivation legalised here, B) starting a hemp farm ( there are already many highly skilled illegal organic marijuana growers in this part of the world.
One thing I have been told is that the higher the THC content of the plants, the better the quality of crops for all applications : in fact, that really refined products cannot be produced from hemp with low THC. Is there any truth to this? Is it worth trying to aim for legal production of high THC content plants, or doesn't it really make any difference?
Congratulations on your cyberfarm - it's a great idea! I look forward to your reply and to communicating in future.
Yours JeZaBeL

Subject: THC and Hemp:
The THC potency of Hemp is an insane issue that politicians bring up to defend their position on prohibition. We must look at how farmers such as George Washington treated the THC issue. They ignored it. If their kids want to go into a Hemp field and smoke some buds, let em. It is just like smoking "rabbit grass" or something. Let them get a headache or pass out from lack of oxygen. From the 1600's until 1937, ther was never a problem with people smoking Hemp to get high, because you can't. There must be a minimum of 2.0% THC to get high. There was also the issue of farmers making THC pills from Hemp foilage. What a load of sh*t! Is it economically feasable for a farmer to take the foilage that replaces nutrients back into the soil, and make THC pills that can be sold at a competitive price to Hash or Marijuana. In my opinion, Marinol and THC pills suck and are not desireable. The THC percentage of Hemp is just a scare tactic used by the police to scare the public. Strains of Hemp that are grown for fiber will be grown for fiber, not a drug, because there is not a drug, just a minute trace of THC. 1.0% THc level is what we are pushing for in Tennessee to 1. please the politicians and missinformed public and 2. allows farmers to choose diferent strains from China, France, Russia, and Eastern Europe. Anything less would be uncivilized.

Subject: Hemp for construction:
Great to see this constructive and informative page. Recently in Australia there was a TV documentary on the ABC about the hemp story and the need to legalise growing. It was a very positive program. On the show they interviewed a woman in France who was constructing houses using a mixture of hemp fibre and some form of mortar which was trowelled onto the wall-frames - they were almost indestructible. Do you have any information of this technology or a contact address/number for her please? If not, perhaps you could do some research and feature her products on these pages some time in the future. you that unfortunately we do not have requested information and testing regarding the
radiation has not been done at our Institute. Professor Kozlowski heard about the fact
that flax near Chernobyl contained Strontium (Sr). If I find in my data base who could

Subject: Medical Marijuana for neuromuscular disorder:
I was looking through the hemp sites last night and I stumbled upon your site, it was a nice change of pace from the old "Facts and figures" I usually come across. I have been a supporter of the hemp revolution ever since I discovered it's ability to relax the muscle cramps I suffered due to a neuromuscular disorder (SMA), needless to say it has made life much better for myself and my sister, who suffers from the same problem. If doctors, as well as politicians would just open up their eyes, they wouldn't be able to close their wallets$$$.
